Electric and hybrid vehicles still need regular maintenance to keep them safe, reliable and performing as they should. At PW Auto Repairs, we provide professional servicing, maintenance and repairs for electric and hybrid vehicles at our independent garage in Newark.​
We now have five Vehicle Technician's qualified to IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement. We also have three Service Advisors trained in Hybrid and EV Awareness, so they understand the needs of EV and Hybrid vehicle service and repair, as well as the additional safety requirements.
Although fully electric vehicles have fewer traditional engine components, they still rely on complex braking, suspension, steering, cooling and electrical systems. Hybrid vehicles also combine high-voltage technology with a petrol or diesel engine, meaning both sides of the vehicle must be maintained correctly. We have qualified technicians, who use suitable equipment, technical information and careful working procedures to inspect and maintain your vehicle properly. Electric Vehicle Servicing

Electric vehicles may not require engine oil or conventional engine servicing, but they are not maintenance-free. Regular servicing can identify wear, damage and developing problems before they become more serious.

Hybrid vehicles require attention to both their conventional engine and their electric drive system. This can include engine oil and filter replacement alongside checks of the high-voltage system, cooling circuits, brakes, tyres and other safety-critical components.
We can service hybrid vehicles in accordance with the relevant manufacturer schedule, using parts, oils and fluids that meet the correct specification.

Electric vehicles can be heavier and deliver power differently from conventional vehicles. This can place additional demands on their tyres, while regenerative braking can mean conventional brakes are used less frequently and may be more susceptible to corrosion or sticking.
