What is Payment Assist?
Payment Assist was designed for the automotive industry for garages to be able to offer their customers a way to ease the burden of an unexpected bill when you take your car for an MOT or Service. Even if you have budgeted for the original work, if your car needs additional parts or critical work, this extra can cause a strain on your finances and household budget.
Using Payment Assist, you can pay 25% of the bill on the day, and the three remaining payments over a 3 month period.
How do the payments work?
You simply pay 25% of the total bill on the day via your debit card when you have been accepted, followed by three equal payments taken from your debit card each month.
What's the catch?
There isn't one! There are no fees and no interest to pay. You just pay the monthly installments on your payment plan.
What credit checks do Payment Assist carry out?
As the garage, we simply take the basic details of your name, address, mobile phone number and email address - we upload this to the Payment Assist portal. This then sends you a link via text and/or email so that you can complete the application process.
Payment Assist simply check that the account has adequate funds for you to pay the 25% deposit and the address registered for your debit card matches the address on the plan being put through. No 'footprint' is left on your credit status and this online check takes seconds. Payment Assist has a 98% acceptance rate.
